The trail forms a scenic loop with constantly changing landscapes and no backtracking. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the region’s ecosystems, birdlife, traditions, and indigenous communities that have protected these mountains for generations. After the hike, enjoy a homemade lunch featuring authentic Oaxacan cuisine before settling into cozy forest cabins. Surrounded by pine forests and peaceful mountain scenery, the cabins offer the perfect place to unwind and warm up by the fireplace after a rewarding day on the trails. The afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Sierra Norte and participate in optional activities offered by the community, such as ziplining, crossing a suspension bridge, a massage, or a traditional spiritual cleansing. Wake up to the fresh mountain air on day two and enjoy an early breakfast before beginning a longer and more challenging 14 km (8.7 mi) hike through wilderness trails and spectacular mountain scenery. This route offers a deeper exploration of the Sierra Norte’s cloud forests and hidden landscapes, making it ideal for travelers seeking a true outdoor adventure. After completing the hike, enjoy lunch before returning to Oaxaca City at around 4:30 pm on day 2.
